CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION MEETING
Meeting Minutes of December 10, 2013
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Civil Service Commission was held on December 10, 2013 in
Conference Room 3 located on the Second floor of 25 West Main Street, Auburn, WA. The following
members were in attendance.
MEMBERS PRESENT, Chairman Gene Cerino, Chairman Pro Tem Thordarson and Member Hurlbut
STAFF PRESENT: Chief Lee, Civil Service Secretary/Examiner Gail Cannon, Assistant City Attorney Doug
Ruth, Employment Mgr Geri Hibben

Chairman Cerino called the meeting to order at 3:35 pm.
Approval of the, November 12, 2013 Civil Service Commission meeting minutes:
• Motion to approve meeting minutes made by Member Hurlbut; Second by Chairman Pro Tern
Thordarson
• Motion approved.
Approval of the December 6, 2013 Entry Level Police Eligibility List:
• Motion by Chairman Pro Tern Thordarson, Second by Chairman Pro Tern Thordarson.
Eligibility list approved.
Approval of the December 6, 2013 Lateral Police Eligibility List:
• Motion by Chairman Pro Tern Thordarson, Second by Member Hurlbut.
Eligibility list approved.
Approval of the December 6, 2013 REVISED Parking Control Eligibility List:
• Motion by Member Hurlbut, Second by Chairman Pro Tern Thordarson
Eligibility list approved.
UPDATES/NEW BUSINESS:
• Review of draft Business Rules to be tabled until next month so all parties may review.
• Advised Commission the City will be moving toward Public Safety Testing.
• Advised Commission of new Pro Tern Secretary Linda Ball
