Roll Call Deputy Mayor Nancy Backus called the Junior City Council meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. in Conference Room 3 at Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street in Auburn. Junior City Councilmembers present: Cole Lindell, Tyler Cushing, Dalton Hands, Sydney Campbell, Olivia Thomas, Angelina Zalutskiy and Mary Riel. Junior Councilmember Mauricio Martinez- Torres was excused. Department directors and staff members present: City Attorney Daniel B. Heid, Development Services Manager Jeff Tate and Council Assistant Antoinette Manthey. B. Announcements 1. New Member Introductions Cole Lindell Angelina Zalutskiy All members of the Junior Council shared their name, the school they attend and their Junior City Council terms. Cole Lindell and Angelina Zalutskiy are newly appointed members. C. Agenda Modifications There was no change to the agenda. II. CONSENT AGENDA No items for consideration. III. ACTION A. Junior City Council Chair & Vice Chair Selections Page 1 of 3 After explaining the duties, roles, and process of choosing a chair and vice chair, Deputy Mayor Backus opened the floor for nominations. Once votes were tallied, Cole Lindell was voted Junior City Council Chair and Sydney Campbell was voted Vice Chair. IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Junior City Council Policy & Procedures (Held) City Attorney Heid introduced himself to the Junior City Council and presented them the Municipal Law Training packet for their review. City Attorney Heid discussed the policies and procedures of being on the Junior City Council and explained the rules of meeting in a quorum. Junior Councilmembers Thomas and Hands clarified that members can meet socially as long as city business is not discussed. B. Open Public Meetings Act (Reid) Other topics discussed were the Open Public Meetings Act, ordinances, resolutions, public records request and how to make and second a motion. He also informed them that just like the City Council, the Junior Council is limited on what they can and cannot do. V.
