Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 2:05 pm by Chair Bryce Landrud. Additional board member attending was Jan Speer. Marsha Goodwin is absent /excused. Also present at the meeting were Parks Maintenance Manager Mike Miller, Parks Horticulturist Rich Valenti and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl. II. Minutes The January Tree Board minutes were approved unanimously. III. Correspondence /Public Input IV. Old Business (Landrud) Heritage Tree at GSA — Bryce has confirmed with GSA and will get the tree information to Julie so it can be put through City Council. V. New Business VI. Board Recommendations /Input Julie to get the information on when the next Auburn Garden Club meeting is so we can recruit some new Tree Board Members. VII. Department Report (Miller) Tree City USA status has been approved for the City of Auburn for the 11`h consecutive year. We need to decide what type of tree to plant and choose a location, perhaps the new Lea Hill park. Jan would like a good shade tree. Rich will present some ideas at the March meeting. Rich Valenti has been working with a citizen regarding a donated tree in memory of his deceased aunt and cousin. It is a Silver Queen Cedar, 12'— 15' tall. We are in the process of ordering a plaque, not in bronze as those tend to get stolen. Granite is less expensive and most likely will not get stolen. It will be planted at Les Gove with the cremains. Two Eagle Scout projects have been completed this month, one fenceline planting project at Fulmer Park and a landscaping project at Scootie Brown Park. VIII.
