I. CALL TO ORDER
A. Roll Call
Deputy Mayor Backus called the Council Operations Committee
meefing to order at 5:00 p.m., in the Council Conference Room at
Aubum City Hall, 25 West Main Street in Auburn.
Members in attendance included Chair Nancy Backus; Vice Chair, --
Rich Wagner and Member Bill Peloza. Also in attendance were City
Attorney Daniel B. Heid and Deputy City Clerk Shawn Campbell.
B. Announcements
There was no announcement.
C. Agenda Modifications
There was no change to the agenda.
II. CONSENT AGENDA
A. November 4, 2013 Minutes
Vice Chair Wagner moved and Member Peloza seconded to approve
the November 4, 2013 minutes.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0
III. ACTION
A. 2014 City Council Committee Assignments
Vice Chair Wagner provided the Committee with his recommendations
for Standing Committee assignments wifh himself as Deputy Mayor.
Member Peloza stated he would also like_to be the Deputy Maypc. The
Committee discussed various options. The Committee will present 4wo
options #o the full Council for consideration. Member Peloza stated he
would like to be the City representative on the Valley Regional Fire
Authority Board. Councilmember Wagner said he would like fo
continue as the VRFA board represe�tative. The Mayor will make the
appointment to the VRFA Board.

The Committee requested the Urban Core Task Force and the Bicycle
Task Force be removed from the list of liaisons, moving the Urban
Tree Board to the Planning and Community Developmerrt liaisons list,
change TADA, Doentown Assoc. to Aubum Downtown Assoc. and
adding Junior City Council Mentor to the Deputy Mayors list of duties.
The Committee also discussed the potential need for a Special
Council Operations Committee meeting if Councilmember Wagner is
not reelected. The special meeting is scheduled for December 12,
2013 at 11:30 a.m.
The Committee decided on the two scenarios below.
