CALL TO ORDER CITY OF AUBURN TRANSPORTATION, TRANSIT AND TRAILS COMMITTEE April 23, 2014 Chairman Thordarson called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room #2, located on the second floor of Auburn City Hall, One East Main Street, Auburn, Washington. Committee members present were: Nick Perius, Jim Fletcher, John Daniels Jr. and Terri Calnan. Also present during the meeting were: Assistant Director of Engineering /City Engineer Ingrid Gaub, Community Development and Public Works Director Kevin Snyder, Traffic Engineer James Webb, Transportation Manager Pablo Para and Public Works Secretary Molly Hoisington. II. CONSENT AGENDA A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES It was moved by Member Fletcher, seconded by Member Calnan that the Committee approve the Transportation, Transit and Trails Committee minutes for March 26, 2014. Motion carried. III. DISCUSSION AND INFORMATION A. DRAFT 2015 -2020 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN (Webb) There was a brief group discussion regarding the informational materials provided regarding the Transportation Improvement Plan update. A group consensus was reached that the Transportation Improvement Plan will be reviewed and discussed at the next Transportation, Transit and Trails Committee meeting. B. ANNUAL ROADWAY STRIPING & PAVEMENT MARKING PROGRAM (Para) Transportation Manager Para stated roadway paint striping is done every year. In addition to that, there is a prioritized amount of refreshing the marking legends (stop bars, crosswalks, turn arrows, etc.). New this year, the City is reaching out to gather the communities input. The City will be setting up an online program for citizens to submit photographs through social media of areas that they feel need re- painting or potential new markings. Transportation Manager Para responded to a question asked by Vice -Chair Perius regarding the City's response when a citizen submits online information through social media. In response to a question asked by Chairman Thordarson, Transportation Manager Para confirmed more bike lanes were added in previous years. C. PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF KING COUNTY'S TBD Assistant Director of Engineering /City Engineer Gaub provided informational materials which indicate that King County's Proposition No. 1 Sales and Use Tax and Vehicle Fee for Transportation Improvements is not currently passing. There was a brief group discussion regarding this. Transportation Transit and Trails Committee April 23, 2014 DRAFT MINUTES D. OTHER DISCUSSION Vice -Chair Perius made request to add semi truck parking on the next Transportation, Transit and Trails Committee agenda. IV. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Transportation, Transit, and Trails Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 9:49 a.m. Approved this 28th day of May, 2014.
