The City Counoil of the City of Auburn do ordain as follows: Section 1. That the fOllowing are facts: On or about October 19,1937, the City of Auburn entered into a written oontract ~1th Peter Pirsch & Sons Co., of Kenosha, lIisoonsin, for the purchase by the City of Auburn from said Peter Pirsch & Sons Co. of a fire truck, triple combina- tion pump engine 500 gal. two stage centrifugal, and certain equipment at the oontract prioe of $5,200, payable as follows: ~3,500 thereof within 10 days after delivery and aoceptance and $1,700.00 thereof on or before January 10, 1939 with interest at 6iS per annum upon all deferred or past due payments, and ~hereby the City of Auburn expressly reserved the privilege of taking advantage of the 2% cash discount referred to in said contract and paying the sum of ;';5,096.00 in oash within 10 days after delivery and aooeptanoe of such fire fighting e~uipment. At that time there was in the City Treasury of the City of Auburn, to the credit of its Current Expense Fund, the sum of ~1,000.00 budgeted for the year 1937, available to be fa id upon the purohase price of such equipment, and the City Council had duly budgeted the sum of 02,500.00 for the year 1938, for the purpose of assisting in the payment i'or such equipment. The engine and other equipment mentioned or referred to in said written oon- tract has just been delivered and accepted by the city of Auburn. The Vl,OOO.OO budgeted as above stated for the year 1937 is no longer avail- able to be paid upon the purchase price of saidequipment, having lapsed at the end of the fiscal year. The City of Auburn now has in the treasury of said cit y, to the oredit of its Current Expense Fund, monies in an amount sufficient to pay the difference between said sum of 05,096.00 and said sum of ~2 ,500.00 budge1;;ed as above stated for the year 1938, which will probably not be required during the year 1938 for the payment of any other warrants to be dravm against the Current Expense Fund of said City, and the monies n~v in the treasury of the City of Auburn are bearing no interest. By the payment of the sum of $5,096.00 at this time, in full payment upon suoh contraot of purchase, the City will save a discount of $104.00 and will also save interest to the amount of approximately ~11l.00. It is therefore for the best interests of said Ci ty that the City at this time pay all cash for suoh fire engine and other equipment. Section 2.
