.AN ORDINANCE, Adopting the Budget Of~ the City of Auburn for
the year A. D. 1941.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN DO ORDAm AS FOLLWOS I
Section 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 158
of the Laws of Washington of the year A. D. 1923. and the L_ of the
State of Wam.ington supplementary thereto and amendatory thereof,
the Mayor of tile City of Auburn has here to1'ore duly completed and
'v I>il.ced on tile wi th the City Clerk of the City 0]" Auburn a prel1ln-
inary budget for the the year 1941; that notice was th.lreupon duly ,....
published as required by law stating that the Mavor had completed and
placed on tile such preliminary budget and that a copy would be fUr-
nished to any taxpayer who would call therefor at the office of the
City Cberk end that the City Council of tile City of Auburn would meet
on the fir 15 t Monday of Oc to ber, 1940, at 7: 30 P. M. for the purpose of
fixing the final budget and making tax levies end that any taxpayer
might appear at such meeting and be heard tor or against any part of
such budget. designating the place of such meeting as the City Hall
in the City of Auburn, King County, Wafh ington; that .the Mayor 01' the
City of Auburn duly provided a sui table number of co'S.p~s 01' such ;..
detailed peelim1nary budget to meet the reasonable demands 01' t.ax-
payers therefor; that the Mayor and a part of the Ci ty Couni cl of the
City of Aubum duly met at the time designated in said notice at the
City Hall in the City of Auburu. on October 7,1940, at 7:30 P. M.,
that no taxpayers appeared at said time and place; that upon roll
call it was as cer ta1ne d that ~~ quorum of the C1 ty Council was not

budget was duly continued to^October 8,1940 at 7:00 P~ M., that at
such adjourned hearing any end all taxpayers 01' the City of Auburn,
were g1 ven tull opportun1 ty to be heard for or against such budget;
that at the conclusion of such hearing said City Council on said
8th day of October, 1940, duly fixed and determined each item 01' said
budgetseperately end that the items ofexpense so fixed and deter-
mined ane now here'Pi adopted by this Ordinance as tallows. to-wit:
