Review of April 2Q14 Minutes: April 2O14 minutes were moved for approval. Old Business: EasterService - Messiah Lutheran Church provided the 6:30 am non-denominational Easter Service. The cemetery provided donuts, coffee and water. Approximately 17S people attended. Memorial Day Service — Mayor Nancy Backus attended. The event went well and the grounds look good. He currently lives in assisted living along with his German Sheppard. New Business: Irrigation — Revisiting the possibility of doing awell. Daryl is working with Kevin Snyder. Grounds staff have installed more water efficient heads which are helping with coverage. Also adding sensors with timers; currently have G timers that cost approximately $12Oeach. Generator— (not on agenda) The cemetery only has a small generator and kerosene heaters. The cemetery is an evacuation location, but never received a built in generator due to the economy downfall in 2008. Park & Rec, M &0, City Hall and possibly the Annex all have built in generators. Flower Vases — This year families are encouraged to purchase new vases for $ZOif the where needing to be replaced. Due to the elements and equipment, wear and tear can make them difficult to remove. ' �soimen��of the vase are being t�d�d. ` 1�Pa�e Cemetery Board Meeting June 1O,3O14 Concrete Marker Collars — Around the markers are older concrete collars that are failing. VVedo not use concrete any longer and are only install granite collars unless specifically requested by family to match another. The cost to redo a4 inch boarder is $175 around a granite marker. Marker Clean Up Day — (not on agenda) The Saturday before Mother's Day, our staff is available to assist families trim and clean up the area around the marker. Consideration for other opportunities using volunteer/community service groups or combing with Clean Sweep Day. Pioneer Cemetery — (not nn agenda) is now atcapacity. Records for gravesiten are not very accurate due to when the cemetery was created. Two Year Budget 2015/2016 Not a lot ofchanges. 8y the end ofZOl6, the completion ofMemory Heights, a 450 grave expansion above Memory Meadows. Estimated cost is $20k. The markers markups where increased from 2% to 2.5% which is within the industry standard. Reports: Revenue — includes tax and endowed care • April $56K • May 121K 2O1S-2Dl6 Budge will be completed inSeptember. Operating budget is close to1million.
