Introductions By way of an introduction, President Pat Cavanaugh read a letter from 1968 written by Roberta Crispi about the early days of the formation of the city of Auburn. Sam Cavanaugh was the first mayor after naming the city Auburn. Sam was Pat's great grandfather. Board members unanimously approved the minutes as written. Director Patricia Cosgrove presented a brief Museology 101 slide show on 'No Totem Poles No Teepees'. ll. Committees A. Treasurer Jamie Bothell was absent, so Patricia reviewed the monthly financial statements with the board. 1n summary we are where we should be at this time according to the budget. Ill. Staff Report Working with Auburn Consolidated Electrical Distributors and Puget Sound Energy, the Museum will be switching out all lights that are not currently LEDs and going to all LEDs. This should save about $1000 in electrical costs each year and the lamps are guaranteed to last for ten years. B. Rachael reported on upcoming activities at the Farm which is slated to open June 21 through August 24. Each Sunday there will be farm talks at 2 p.m.; on July 10, 24 and August 7 the Auburn Symphony Orchestra has rented the Farm for chamber music programs; kids will make race cars from veggies on July 12; the Mad Hatter will have a tea on July 26 and Living History Camp will be mornings August 11 to 15. IV. In closing President Cavanaugh reminded board members that there will be no board meeting in June or July, but that help with committee work will continue through the summer. He also thanked Ronnie Beyersdorf for donating an additional $400 to the Halloween Bail to become the first full sponsor for 2014. Respectfully submitted by: Ronnie Beyersdorf, Secretary
