MINUTES
Chair Cole Lindell called the meeting to order at 5:05 p.m. in Conference Room
3 at Auburn City Hall, 25 West Main Street in Auburn.
Junior City Councilmembers present: Cole Lindell, Sydney Campbell, Angelina
Zalutskiy, Mary Riel, Dalton Hands, Brandon Berend and Tyler Cushing.
Staff members present: Deputy Mayor John Holman, Public Affairs & Marketing
Manager Dana Hinman and City Council Assistant Antoinette Manthey.

There were no modifications.
II. CONSENT AGENDA
A. December 15, 2014 Meeting Minutes
Junior Council to approve the December 15, 2014 meeting minutes.
B. January 20, 2015 Meeting Minutes
Junior Council to approve the January 20, 2015 meeting minutes.
Motion by Member Hands to approve the December 15, 2014 and January 20,
2015 meeting minutes, seconded by Member Cushing. Motion carried
unanimously. 6 -0.
III. DISCUSSION ITEMS
A. Bullying Campaign Mission Statement
The Junior Council created a mission statement for their bullying campaign: "To
encourage a community where everyone can play, learn and grow together in a
bully -free environment." The Junior Council came up with ways to use the
mission statement to help end bullying such as an award programs and having
campaign teams at schools. Deputy Mayor Holman suggested having a tent for

the Junior Council at Auburn's birthday party on June 5t" to promote the anti -
bullying campaign, and also suggested a letter or essay writing campaign.
A discussion took place about creating a Junior Council Facebook and Twitter
account to promote the anti - bullying campaign. The accounts will be monitored,
but the Junior Council will be in charge of keeping it updated. Chair Lindell
suggested putting the mission statement in the Twitter bio.
Dana Hinman, Public Affairs & Marketing Manager, briefly talked to the Junior
Council about social media and creating their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Ideas on their social media accounts will be discussed at the next meeting.
IV. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Junior City Council, the meeting
adjourned at 5:57 p.m.
