Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 2:05 pm. Tree board members attending were Marsha Goodwin, Brooksie Donna Hall, Jan Speer, James Tourangeau, Chair Bryce Landrud. Also present at the meeting were Parks Planning & Development Manager]amie Kelly, Parks Horticulturist Richard Valenti and Parks Secretary]ulie Mehl. II. Minutes The October2014 Urban Tree Board minutes were approved unanimously. III. Correspondence/Public Input Discussion on trees removed near the Muckleshoot Reservation. The board would like to review city codes regarding city trees. Board member ponna Hall shows a photo of signage The City of Bellevue posts on trees prior to removal showing the reason why and what will be planted in the future. Rich Valenti states Auburn uses sandwich boards for notification. Bryce adds that Tacoma and Seattle post signage as well. IV. Old Business Heritage Tree —The Oregon Myrtle on 4`h St NE is the unanimous choice for the 2nd Heritage Tree of 2014. The board discusses seleding a tree each quarter in 2015. V. New Business Department of Natural Resources $10,000 grant for City owned improved property. DNR would hire contractor to complete assessments. Jamie will complete grant, which is due in December. VI. Board Recommendations/Input VII. Department Report The Fenster planting project drew 175 volunteers who planted 4,500 plants on October 11. The transient camp along the White River near the bridge is in the process of being cleaned up. Jan
