I. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:05 pm.
Tree board member attending was James Tourangeau. Absent/excused: Bryce Landrud, Marsha
Goodwin, Brooksie Donna Hall. Unexcused: Jan Speer. Also present at the meeting were Parks Planning
& Development Manager]amie Kelly, Planner Gary Yao, Parks Horticulturist Richard Valenti and Parks
Secretary Julie Mehl.

The December 2014 Urban Tree Board minutes were not approved as there is no quorum.

VII. Department Report
Planner Gary Yao reports on Tree Protection Regulations. The following are types of trees/landscaping
which are protected by ACC 18.50.070.
• Trees located within critical areas such as wetland, streams, landslide hazard areas
• Trees planted on private property adjacent to the public right-of-way, as"street trees"
• Trees planted as perimeter landscaping which are generally required for multi-family, commercial
and industrial projects along the public right-of-way and adjacent to residential properties
• Existing significant trees located in the required perimeter landscaping area for a project.
