Department Report — Director Faber gives updates on the following potential park improvements: Sunset Park — A spray park with a zip line feature will be installed next to the mound at Sunset Park via the Lions Club and City grants. It will be operational in summer 2016. It's been about ten years since we've made improvements at Sunset Park. Revenues & park impact fees are increasing and we have a decent amount of undeveloped park property. In roughly two years we may submit a potential bond or levy at $4 to $5 per month for improvements to the 10 acre area near the Green River south of the Auburn Golf Course. We are hoping to develop a passive picnic park with a restroom and retain the sandy beach area. We need to alleviate cars parking on 104 `" by installing a parking lot. This will be a project to work on in the next year or two. Jacobson Tree Farm - 40 acre property near Mountainview High School, has a Master Plan that needs to be updated, will include a multi -use field, and a linear trail. Auburndale II - 10 acre property is undeveloped and shows signs of being used as a BMX bike track. Property was acquired through a land transfer from incorporating property on Lea Hill. Property could potentially link with Jacobson Tree Farm property. Property near Fire Station #33 at Lake Tapps - 50 to 60 acres classified as Open Space and can not be developed, will remain as a nature area. The Valley Regional Fire Authority had to build parking for their use and future park use. The City of Auburn negotiated with Herr properties including Big Daddy's Drive In, a Tobacco Store and Tedrick's Roofing. All buildings were empty, no one was displaced. The City has been working on this project for many years. Discuss related to a proposed Community/Teen Center to be located on the north end of the Les Gove Campus. Park Board commented on the desire to see additional opportunities for youth /teens as it related to the proposed concept. The City is putting a lot of emphasis on keeping Les Gove park safe. We have also been searching for a location for a "one stop shop" for community services.
