Board Meeting MINUTES
June 17, 2015, 1:30 to 3 p.m. V
Muckleshoot Room, White River Valley Museum
I. President Kim Perry called the meeting to order at 1:35pm. She welcomed board
members and seeing no guests proceeded to review the minutes. Minutes from the May, 2015
meeting were approved as sent.
Curator of Education Rachael McAlister reviewed the Museum's website, showing off some of
the newer features such as use of Wufoo to enable our guests to sign a child up online for camp,
purchase tickets to events, and even order and pay for photographs. Thanks to Rachael for the
behind the scenes work making these improvements possible!
II. Treasurer Jamie Bothell reviewed the monthly Financial Statement which showed typical
financial progress for this time in the year. He recommended this report to the Board which was
accepted unanimously.
Curator of Collections Hilary Pittenger and Collections Management Committee chair Joan
Mason reviewed the items being accepted into the collection and those being deaccessed. Hilary
continues to work on processing deaccessions; this effort is aimed at thining the collection of
damaged and duplicate items.
Chair Kim Perry and Rachael McAlister paired up to review plans for the Halloween Costume Ball
reminding board members that it was their charge to each fill a table. They also provided
opportunity for board members to report on progress being made securing Live Auction items. A
HEARTY BRAVO goes to Ronnie and his team for putting together a remarkable trip to Anacortes
and the San Juans.
III. Patricia Cosgrove shared plans for a welcoming event for the new superintendent of the
Auburn School District, Dr. Alan Spicciati to be held on August 9. Rachael previewed summer
programs, and Patricia reminded board members of the opening of the new exhibit SERVICE INK
upcoming on 6/23.
IV. Kim adjourned the meeting at 2:55pm and reminded boards that there will be no July
meeting, and that the August meeting will be held at the Mary Olson Farm.
