Dear W ater Utility Customer:
As part of the City of Auburn’s ongoing commitment to maintaining the delivery of high quality
water service to its citizens through cost-effective and innovative systems, contractors working
for the City of Auburn will soon start installing new water meters for residential and commercial
customers throughout the City. Once installed, these meters will be able to collect detailed
water usage inf ormation allowing f or better leak detection and improved customer service.
These meters are projected to save ratepayers an estimated $5 million over 20 years.
The installation of the water meters will start November of 2015. W e anticipate that installation
will be complete in 2017. There will be no impact to the safety or quality of the City’s water
system.
Postcards will be sent to the property two weeks prior to installation to remind you of the
installation. Door hangers will be left at the main entrance of the property informing residents or
businesses of the installation effort.
