Tuesday, December 1, 2015 Meeting Minutes
Present: Cary Davidson, Charlotte Gollnick, Patricia Judd, Dan Norman, Colleen Maloney,
Ronie Schwend, Greg Watson, Julie Krueger, Arts and Events Manager, Maija McKnight, Arts
Coordinator, Daryl Faber Parks, Arts and Recreation Director.
I. Call to Order, Approval of Minutes, Introductions and Approval of Minutes
Vice Chair Greg Watson called the meeting to order at 5:05 pm. Ronie Schwend moved to
approve the November 2015 meeting minutes. Pat Judd moved to seconded the motion. All
approved. Motion approved.
II. Commission Membership
Vice Chair Nominations
Two nominations for Vice Chair were submitted for consideration and voting — Cary
Davidson and Charlotte Gollnick. Ballots were distributed and Julie Krueger tallied the
results of the votes. Charlotte Gollnick accepted the nomination and vote and members
approved. Charlotte Gollnick will serve as the Vice Chair of the Arts Commission in 2016
and Chair in 2017.
Gratitude and thanks were extended to outgoing members Greg Watson and Laura
Westergard. Greg Watson's second term (six years) will end at the end of the calendar year
and Laura Westergard had an employment change that is a conflict with the meeting times
and so has resigned. These members have been valuable members to the commission
throughout their terms and their service to the Commission will greatly be missed.
III. Updates/ Announcments/ Upcoming Events
• Red, White and Blue Holiday Concert will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at
the Auburn Performing Arts Center.
• The January 5, 2016 meeting will be a joint meeting with the Arts Commission, Parks
Board and Cemetery Board with an informational presentation /training by the City
Attorney Dan Heid.
• Staff provided some updates and plans for projects that will be future agenda items
in 2016 and thanked the commissioners for their dedication to the arts in Auburn.
There being no future business, the meeting adjourned at 5:27 pm
