(Check all that apply)Bill Peloza, Councilmember Date of meeting Thursday, January 21, 2016 Dear Green/Duwamish Watershed Advisory Group Members: Thank you for your participation in the “Our Green/Duwamish” Watershed Advisory Group (WAG) meeting on January 21, 2016. We are pleased to kick off Phase II of this project. Below is a summary of the meeting, a Phase II workshop update schedule of future WAG meetings. Also, attached are notes from the meeting. Meeting Summary: Phase I activities were recapped and the results of November 2015 WAG focus area DI.A Page 6 of 16 List agenda topics survey were discussed. There was good discussion on each of the focus areas. We also heard from experts about climate resilience and air quality conditions in the watershed which led to insightful discussions related to these focus areas. Presentations from the meeting are attached. King County will take a leadership role on the following two focus areas: 1. Watershed- wide stormwater strategy 2. Watershed-wide open space plan. We want to continue our important discussion on integrating climate resilience activities and improving air quality to advance public health into the watershed strategy during the next WAG meeting. Phase II Workshops: Phase II will begin with a series of workshops that will help to prioritize actions, synthesize alternatives and evaluate feasibility of alternatives related to a watershed-wide stormwater strategy and watershed-wide open space plan. We will continue to keep you informed regarding important upcoming dates of the workshops. If you have a particular interest in participating in either or both of these focus area workshops, contact Heidi Kandathil at the email address provided below. Future Meeting Schedule: The dates below have been identified as tentative dates for the next two WAG meetings. • March 17, 2016 • May 19, 2016 Your involvement towards a healthy Green/Duwamish Watershed is crucial for the success of this important project. If you have any questions or need additional information, contact Heidi at heidi.kandathil@kingcounty.gov or 206-263-1032.
