HomeMy WebLinkAbout3834 1 ORDINANCE N0. 3 8 3 4 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, REPEALING AUBURN CODIFIED CITY 3 ORDINANCES 13.20.480 AND 13.20.520, RELATING TO THE MONTHLY RATES AND CHARGES FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL SERVICES AND CREATING A NEW AUBURN CODIFIED 4 CITY ORDINANCE 13.20.480 AND 13.20.520 THEREOF. 5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: 6 Section 1. Auburn Codified City Ordinances 13.20.480 and 13.20.520 are 7 hereby repealed in their entirety. . 8 Section 2. There is hereby created a new Auburn Codified City Ordinance 9 13.20.480 relating to sewage disposal service charge - residential 10 occupancies, which shall read as follows: 11 "13.20.480 Sewage disposal service charge - Residential occupancies. 12 Fffective on the January 10, 1983 billing rates and charges for 13 sewage disposal services shall be as follows: 14 (A) Residences: Nine dollars and eighty-five cents per month, for each 15 single family residence within the corporate city limits and eleven dollars and eighty-five cents per month for each single family resi- 16 dence outside the corporate city limits. 17 !B) Non-single family residential : All users other than single family residential shall pay nine dollars and eighty-five cents per month lg for the first 900 cubic feet and one dollar and nine cents per every 100 cubic feet thereafter. 19 Non-single family residential users outside the corporate city limits 20 shall pay eleven dollars and eighty-five cents per month for the first 900 cubic feet and one dollar and thirty-one cents per every 100 21 cubic feet thereafter. 22 (C) Municipality of Metro Sewer Charges: These charges are included in the monthly rates stated above for residential and non-single family 23 residential rates. Any Metro cost increases charged to the City of Auburn will he passed along to Auburn customers." 24 SeCtion 3. There is hereby created a new Auburn Codified City Ordinance 25 13.20.520, relating to sewage disposal service charge - service without city 26 water, which shall read as follows: 27 "13.20.520 Sewage disposal service charge - Service without city water. 28 Effective on the January 10, 1983 billing the monthly charge rates 29 and charges for sewage disposal services shall be as follows: 30 31 ------------------°------ 32 Ordinance No. 3834 Page One of Two 12-13-82 I 1 (A) In the event that water obtained from other sources than purchased 2 from the city is either discharged or drained into the sewer system, single-family dwellings and multiple dwelling units shall be charged 3 by one of two following methods: 4 1. Nine dollars and eighty-five cents per dwelling unit or dwelling space occupied or unoccupied within the corporate city 5 limits and eleven dollars and eighty-five cents per month for each single family residence outside the corporate city limits. 6 2. The property owner of such private water system, upon explana- 7 tion to the director of public works, may request a water meter to be installed into such private water system at no cost to 8 the property owner. The method of billing shall be in compliance with subsection B of Section 13.20.480. 9 10 {S) Other than single-family and multiple dwellings, the director of public works shal.l install a water meter into such private water system at no cost to property owners and the method of billing shall 11 be in compliance with Section 13.20.480 (B); or where special con- ditions exist in which said alternatives are considered not prac- 12 tical, the director of public works shall impose a fixed rate of charge to such customer subject to the approval of the city council ." 13 14 Section 3. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administra- 15 tive procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directions of this lb �egislation. 17 Section 4.
