AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AMENDING AUBUR,N CODIFIED CITY
ORDINANCE 13 04 410 (FIRE HYDRANT - USE PERMIT APPLICATION - CHARGES)
CHANGING THE FEE STRUCTURES THEREIN, AND CHANGING THE COSTS OF THE USE
OF WATER
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITV OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS
Section 1 Auburn Codified City Ordinance 13 04 410 which reads as
follows
13 04 410 Fire hydrant - Use permit application - Charges
"Any person, other than employees of the fire department,
water division, sewer division or street division, requiring
the use of any city hydrant shall make written application in
advance for such use to the city fire department at the main
fire station Upon approval of the application, the fire de-
partment shall issue a permit for a specified hydrant for a
one-month period of time Cost of the permit shall be ten
dollars per month, which shall be full payment for use of
the hydrant and not to exceed one thousand cubic feet of
water Where the estimated amount of water to be drawn from
the hydrant will exceed ten thousand cubic feet, or when
considered advisable by the general supervisor, the general
supervisor shall install a meter and valve on the hydrant,
and all water used by the permittee in excess of one thousand
cubic feet shall be charged to him at the rate of fifty cents
per hundred cubic feet "
is hereby amended to read as follows
"13 04 410 Fire hydrant - Use permit application - Charges
Any person, other than employees of the fire department, engineering
inspection division, water division, sewer division or street division, requiring
the use of any city hydrant shall make written application in. advance for such
use to the City of Auburn Fire Department Upon approval of the application the
Fire Department shall issue a permit for a specified hydrant for a specified
period of time Costs of the water shall be the same as if a two inch water
meter were in operation The minimum cost for water will be $22 00 per month
or as Ordinance No 3142 is amended This amount is to be prepaid at the time
of application for the permit
Hydrant gate valves shall be installed on all rental hydrants for fire
department use and shall meet their specifications Only approved hydrant gate

valves and wrenches shall be used Approved hydrant wrenches and gate valves
will be available through the fire department at a deposit fee of One Hundred
Fifty Dollars ($150 00) There will be an additional deposit fee of Three Hundred
Fifty Dollars ($350 00) if it is determined a hydrant meter is required The
deposit fee will be returned in full after the hydrant, wrench and valve are
inspected and returned in an acceptable condition "
Section 2 That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5)
days from and after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law
