MEMBERS PRESENT: Terry Hurlbut, Chairman; Jim Kelly, Chairman Pro Tem; Heidi Harris, Member
STAFF PRESENT: Bob Lee, Police Chief; Jessica Leiser, Assistant City Attorney; Julie Balza, HR Coordinator/
Civil Service Examiner Pro Tem
I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Hurlbut called the meeting to order at 3:33 pm.
II. APPROVAL MINUTES: Approval of February 9, 2016 Civil Service Commission meeting minutes.
FIRST. I Kelly I SECOND: I Harris I CONCUR: I Hurlbut I APPROVED
III. ENTRY LEVEL POLICE OFFICER: Review and approval of the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list.
FIRST. Kelly SECOND: Harris CONCUR: I Hurlbut APPROVED
IV. UPDATES /NEW BUSINESS: Chief Lee discussed our current hiring status (1 vacancy, 2 pending vacancies).
He also brought up the two individuals that were recently given an offer of employement and are awaiting
an Academy date before assigning an official start date. Currently, the funding for the basic law
enforcement academy is under review and there are no additional academy dates available. Chief Lee alsc
mentioned the 3 officers that are currently in the academy, one of which was recently injured and
underwent surgery.
V. ADJOURN: The meeting adjourned at approximately 3:36 p.m.
