HomeMy WebLinkAbout1591 1 RESOLUTION N0. 1 5 9 1 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, DECLARING 3 ITS INTENTION TO PURCHASE PROPERTY ON THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF MAIN AND "B" STREET N.E. , WITHIN THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AND TO CREATE A LOCAL 4 IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO ASSESS THE COST AND EXPENSE THEREOF AGAINST THE PROPERTIES SPECIALLY BENEFITED THEREBY; AND NOTIFYING ALL PERSONS WHO 5 DESIRE TO OBJECT TO THE IMPROVEMENT TO APPEAR AND PRESENT THEIR OBJECTIONS � AT A HEARING BEFORE THE AUBURN CITY COUNCIL TO BE HELD JUNE 3, 1985. 6 7 g BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHIN6TON, AS y FOLLOWS: 10 Section 1. It is the intention of the City Council of the City of Auburn, 11 Wash9ngton, to purchase property located on the northwest corner of Main and 12 "B" Street N.E. , within the City of Auburn. 13 The properties to be benefited from this proposed improvement are situate 14 in K9ng County, Washington, and are more particularly described as follows, 15 to-wit: 16 Lot 1 and the north 100 ft, of Lots 2-8, inclusive, Riverview Addition to Auburn; TOGETHER WITH: 17 Lots 1-10, inctusive, B1 2 and Lot 1-7, inclusive, B1 3, L.W. Ballard's lg Commercial Addition to Auburn; TOGETHER WITH: 19 Lots 1-12, inclusive, B1 14, L.W. Ballard's 3rd Addition to Slaughter; , T06ETHER WITH: 20 Beginning at the SE cor of Lot 12, B1 14, L.W. Ballard's 3rd Addition to 21 Slaughter; thence easterly along north marginal line of East Main Street, 147.56 ft, to the west marginal line of °C" Street, AKA Auburn Way North_; 22 thence northerly along said west marginal line, 110 feet; thence west along a line parallel to East Main Street to the NE cor of Lot 1, B1 14, 23 L.W. Ballard' s 3rd Addition to Slaughter; thence southerly along the east line of said Lots 1 and 12, B1 14, to the true point of beginning; 24 Except all streets and alleys from all of the above tracts of land. 25 � Section 2. The total estimated costs and expense of this improvement is 26 27 eclared to be $108,500 which shall be borne by and assessed against those 28 roperties to be included in a 1oca1 improvement district to be established 29 mbracing as near as may be all properties specially benefited by such impro- � 30 �ent and within the common outer boundary of the real property described in 31 �tan 1 hereof aggregated. ---=---=-------------------- 32 esolution No. 1591 age One of Two /2/85 . - � ' 1 Section 3. All persons who may desire to object to the improvement herei 2 described are hereby notified to appear and present such objections at a 3 hearing before the Auburn City Council in the Council Chambers, Auburn City 4 Hall , 25 West Main Street, Auburn, Washington, at 7 30 P.M. local time on ; 5 June 3, 1985, which time and place are hereby fixed for hearing all matters � 6 relating to the proposed improvement, and all objections thereto, and for 7 determining the method of payment for that improvement. 8 Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed (1) to mail , 9 at least 15 days before the day above fixed for hearing, to the owners or 10 reported owners of all lots, tracts and parcels of land or other property to 11 be specially benefited by the proposed improvement, as shown on the rolls of 12 the County Treasurer, directed to the address shown thereon, a notice setting 13 forth the nature of the proposed improvement, the estimated cost, the esti- 14 mated benefits of the particular lot, tract or parcel , and the date, time and 15 place of the hearing; and (2) to cause this Resolution to be published in at 16 least two consecutive issues of the official newspaper of the City, the first I 17 publication to be at least 15 days before the day above fixed for the hearing. 18 Section 5. The Director of Public Works is hereby directed to submit or 19 cause to be submitted to the City Council on or prior to the day above fixed � + 20 for the hearing, all data and information required by law to be submitted. 21 Section 6.
