Parks and Recreation Board Meeting
Minutes
Wednesday, September 7, 2016
5:30 p.m.
Auburn Community & Event Center
I. Call to Order
Members present were Vicki Gilthvedt, Bob Kickner and Greg Dobbs. Department staff present were
Parks Director Daryl Faber, Parks Planning & Development Manager Jamie Kelly and Parks Secretary Julie
Mehl.
II. Minutes
The February & March 2016 minutes are not approved as there is no quorum.

Joe Bauman and David Domenowske are no longer board members. Board reviewed list of 21 new
applicants.

VII. Department Report (Faber/ Kelly)
Parks Planning Manager Jamie Kelly updated the board on the Big Daddy's/ Herr property demolition.
Landscaping, topsoil, irrigation and hydroseeding will be complete soon. Street trees, sidewalk, public
art, signage to follow. Final phase will be to close Deal's Way &cut through H St SE.
Received a State grant for the White River Valley Museum to build a gathering area for field trip
participants.
The REC had 25 — 30 participants the first day of school for their after school program.
Les Gove updates include: trail expansion, new restrooms, camera system.
Brannan RCO field #1 to be updated, Compan mini soccer field added.
Bridge at Mary Olson Farm is complete.
The old King County Health Building will be our Arts & Culture center.
