Parks and Recreation Board Meeting
Minutes
Tuesday, December 6, 2016
5:30 p.m.
Auburn Community & Event Center
I. Call to Order
Present were chair Michael Hassen, members Bob Kickner, Wayne Osborne, Lisa Russell, Bailey Stober.
Department staff present were Parks Director Daryl Faber, Parks Planning & Development Manager Jamie
Kelly and Parks Secretary Julie Mehi.
II. Minutes
The February, March, &April minutes were moved for approval by Bob Kickner, Bailey Stober seconds.
III. Committee Member Input
Board Chair Michael Hassen reports there has been homeless activity in the Brannan Park restrooms.
Board member Wayne Osborne asks about dog waste bags at Lea Hill Park. Daryl Faber to re-visit
ordering.

Parks Director Daryl Faber welcomed new members Wayne Osborne, Lisa Russell and Bailey Stober. �
VII. Department Report (Faber/ Kelly) �
Director Faber presented a Parks Department overview.
The parking lot drainage repair at Game Farm Park has been budgeted for 2017. Overflow will be routed
to basin which has better drainage. Parks Planner]amie Kelly adds the drainage issue near the entrance
is a much larger job, est. $300,000.
Cameras will be installed at the parking lot at Les Gove. The Auburn Police Dept. will be able to view
infrared activity on their phones.
Les Gove Campus: H St will be cut through in the spring between the museum and Auburn Youth
Resources property. 15 parking stalls will be added, closing Deal's Way in the process. Summer
Concerts, food vendor trucks will be added. (Grant in process).
Brannan Park— Synthetic infield #1 baseball to be installed. Compan soccer to also be added (similar to
Lea Hill Park).
104�h St property— blackberries have been removed, being surveyed, trying to determine flood plain. 14
acre area includes a sandy beach, need to improve river access and add parking.
RCO Letter of Intent has been completed to add lighting to Game Farm field #4.
