Parks and Recreation Board Meeting
Minutes
Wednesday, January 6, 2017
5:30 p.m.
Auburn Community & Event Center
I. Call to Order
Present were chair Michael Hassen, members Greg Dobbs, Wayne Osborne, Lisa Russell, Bailey Stober.
Department staff present were Parks Director Daryl Faber, Parks Planning & Development Manager Jamie
Kelly, Planner Alexandria Teague and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl.
II. Minutes
The December minutes were moved for approval by Wayne Osborne, Greg Dobbs seconds.
III. Committee Member Input
Board member Lisa Russell volunteered at the Breakfast with Santa event, she added it was a fun, well
organized and well attended event.
Board member Greg Dobbs asks about the river front property on 104th. Parks Planning & Development
Manager Jamie Kelly shares survey crews have completed the survey, base map has been sent to Bob
Droll for master planning process.

Director Faber states the February meeting will be combined with the Arts Commission meeting which
involves artist selection. Mr. Faber asks for a volunteer, Wayne Osborne offers.
VII. Department Report
Director Faber reports security cameras will be installed next week in the parking lot of the Community &
Event Center.
Planner Alexandria Teague states the 2015 open space designation zoning code must be updated to
correspond with the comprehensive plan. This includes open space vs. institutional designations. Land
use designation amendments can be submitted for change annually. Most parks are currently designated
as institutional. The development standards for lands being designated as opens space will be created in
2017.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:37 pm.
