I. Call to Order, Introductions:
Ghair Golinick called the meeting to order at 5:07 pm. Brief introductions of those presenl. Arts
Gommissioners were asked to help participate in writing postcards for an upcoming ArtPlace grent
application to seek funding for the creation of Autiurn's Arts & Cultu�e Center.
II. Introduce Makers Space
The Arts Commission and Parks Board joined and Parks, Arts & Recreation Direotor Daryl Faber
qresented tlie Makers Space and gave brief tiackground on the mission and planning behind creation of
the space. Arts Coordinator Aliison Hyde described cuirent and future programming and classes for the
space including: the Young Inyentors Club, Design Thursday project workshops, Wednesday Intro
Wo�kshops, after-school art-making activities, adult art classes and new Makers Space birthday party
packages. Staff member Stella Kemper gave demonstration on the tecHnology in the facility inclutling the
3-D printer anii the laser-cutter.
III. Updates and Upcoming Events
Hyde initiated introductions between the Arts Commission and Parks Board as weil as sharing details on
upcomi�g classes ahcl plans for g�owth in the Makers Space.
IV. Approval of Minutes
After conclutling the shared portion of the meeting, the Arts Commission reconvened to review and
approve minutes from November 2016 and January2017 meetings. Commissioner Norman moved to
approve the minutes of the November 2016 Arts Corrimission meeting; the motion was seconded by
Commissioner Judd. Chair Gollnick moved to approye the minutes of the January 2017 Arts Commission
meeting; the motion was seconded tiy Commissioner Sie. Chair Gollnick called the vote, both motions
passed unanimously.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:05 pm
