I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Pro Tem Kelly called the meeting to order at 3:35 pm.
II. APPROVAL MINUTES: Approval of August 9, 2016 Civil Service Commission meeting minutes.

III. ENTRY LEVEL POUCE OFFICER: Review and approval of the Entry Level Police Officer eligibility list.

IV. LATERAL POLICEDFFICER: Review and approval of the Lateral Police Officer eligibility list.

V. UPDATES/NEW BUSINE55: lanelle presented the Diversity and Recruitment Program that is being
implemented for our Civil 5ervice hiring.This grogram includes efforts to increase the diyersity of qualified
candidates in the Police Department through entry level, lateral, and promotional hiring.Some of iYs
action points are targeted job postings, increased presence on military basesat career fairs, and modifying
our recruifinent process to encourage candidate success through interview seminars and a 'Top 5"tips
sheet.We are also looking at ways to work with local junior high and high schools to build relationships
and increase the education surrounding careers in law enforcement.We have put out an RFP for marketing
firms to help us reach our target audiences in an effective and appropriate manner.
