Call to Order, Introductions: Chair Gollnick called the meeting to order at 4:40 pm. Brief introductions of those present. Commissioner Jensen moved to approve the minutes of the February 2017 Arts Commission meeting; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Watson. Chair Gollnick called the vote, both motions passed unanimously. II. Presentation on Arts 8 Culture Center Arts& Events Manager Julie Krueger shared a powerpoint presentation on the future Arts &Culture Center including a recent video created for the 2017 ArtPlace Grant Application. Krueger and Hyde discussed goals of fundraising for the two-phase renovations and tentative plans for programming the space:Thoughts were shared by Commissioner Jensen and Council Member Wagner regarding possible locations of outdoor stage and performances as well as a desire to close alley between the Center and the Theater in the future for an outdoor gathering place: Grant writing is unden�vay and tentative plans for phase-one renovations are slated for lafe 2017 and to carry on throughout 2018. III. Updates and Upcoming Events Hyde shared updates on current and upcoming art exhibitions including the recent success of the City Hall exh.ibition of Robert Chism. She reported on the recent successful partnership befinreen Robert Chism and the Mary Olson Farm and a donation from the a�ist to support the farm. It was mentioned that the Auburn Reporter also wrote an article about Chism's exhibition. Commissioners Watson and Jensen gave an uPdate on the committee meeting regarding the upcoming Iconic Public Art commission and the desire for a piece of art that is large-scale, atfention-grabbing and som.ething that can become an icon for the park and the city. Museum Director Cosgrove shared that the upcoming museum exhibition will be curated by Comm.issioner Watson and will feature Northwest Sa..lish artisfs. Commissioners were invited to remain at the museum after the meeting was adjourned for a tour of the facility and current exhibit "Women's Work."
