Parks and Recreation Board Meeting
Minutes
Tuesday, March 7, 2017
5:30 p.m.
Auburn Community & Event Center
I. Call to Order
Present were chair Michael Hassen, members Greg Dobbs, Bob Kickner, Lisa Russell, Bailey Stober.
Department staff present were Parks Director Daryl Faber, Parks Planning & Development Manager Jamie
Kelly, and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl.
II. Minutes
The February minutes were moved for approval by Greg Dobbs, Bailey Stober seconds.

V. Old Business
Director Faber will contact Richard Artura to find out if he's interested in relinquishing his role on the
board as he hasn't attended in months.
The board discussed the following parks for an off leash dog area: Game Farm, Cedar Lanes,
Auburndale, Les Gove. Les Gove was the preferred location.
VI. New Business
Daryl informed the board there is a master plan in process for Pioneer Cemetery which will include
interpretive signage, parking, history.
The board discussed naming the lake in West Auburn, Lewis Pond Park was favored.
VII. Department Report (Faber& Kelly)
Open bids will be accepted March 20 for the H Street cut through, with a finish date of May 17.
Brannan Park synthetic turf project: Scope of work includes sub-surface drainage challenge of either a
rain garden or sand filtration. We received confirmation of grant funds, construction to begin in )une.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:36 pm.
