A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE GITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, RELATING TO ITS INTENTION TO ANNEX CE,RTAIN PROPERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE LAKELAND PHASE II ANNEXATION, LOCATED ON THE CITY'S SOUTHERN BOUNDARY, THAT IS SOUTH OF'THE KING/PIERCE COUNTY LINE WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received annexation No. ANX00-0005 (for Lake/and Phase 11 annexation) petitioning the City to annex approximately 415 acres ofi land located on the City's southern boundary, south of the King/Pierce County Line; and WHEREAS, at the regula� City Council meeting held September 5, 2000 the City Council authorized City staff to prepare fhe necessary annexation petition stating that said area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro rata portion of the existing boniied indebtedness of the City of Auburn; and WHEREAS, on Nove.mber 6, 2000 the petition was received by the City of Auburn, which petition was certified by the Pierce County Assessor's Office, and signed by the property owners, repre.senting 77% of the valuation of the prQperty, lying within the limits of the proposed area to be annexed, according to the assessed valuation for general taxation; and WHEREAS, on November 6, 2000 the Aubu�n City Council scheduled a public hearing to be held on November 20, 2000; and Resolution No. �3285 November 20, 2000 - Page 1 WHEREAS; on November 20, 2000, the City Council held a public hearing at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Ghambers of the Aubum City Hall, at which fime #he City Council recommencled approval of said annexation ezclucling tfie ThuLine Property and instructed that the notice of intention be forvvarded to the Pierce County Boundary Review Board. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHING'fON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The City of Aubum hereby requests the Pierce County Boundary Review Board to app�ove the annexation of approzimately 415 acres of land located on the City's soufhern boundary, south of the King/Pierce County line. Section 2. The City Council finds that the annexafion is consistent with the Gity of Aubum's goals and policies related to annexations as enumerated in Chapter 13 of'fhe Cify's Comprehensive Plan. Section 3. The City Council further finds that the annexation is consiStent with fhe Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the City for orderly and controlled growth, and accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in RCW 36.93.010 based on the facts herein. ------------------------- Resolution No. 3285 Novemb�er 20, 2000 - Page '2 Section_4.
