A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,

WASWINGTON, RELATING . TO ITS INTENTION TO :ANNEX CERTAIN
PROPERTY, LOCATED ADJACENT TO THE_ GITY LIMITS WITHIN THE LEA
HILL POTENTIAL,ANNEXATION AREA.
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn, Washington, has received Application
No. ANX00-0003 petifioning the City to annex a 201-acre area of land located in
the Lea Hill Potential Annexation Area, generally bounded by 116t" Avenue SE
on the west, SE 312'" Street on the north; 124th Avenue SE on the east, and ttie
Green River Community College/SE 320th Street on the south; and
WHEREAS, at the regular City Council meeting held May 15, 2000, the
City Council authorized City staff to prepare the necessary annexation petition
stating that said area, if annexed by the City of Auburn, will assume the pro rata
portion of the existing bonded indebtedness of the City of Auburn; and
WHEREAS, on November 28, 2000, the petition was received by the City
of Auburn, which petition was signed by the property owners, representing more
than 60% of the valuation of the property lying within the limits of the proposed
area fo be annexed, according to the assessed vafuation for general taxation;
and

WHEREAS, on December 4, the Auburn City Council scheduled a public
hearing to be held on December 18, 2000; and

WHEREAS, on Deeember 18, 2000 the City Council held a public
' h.earing at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of fhe Auburn City Hall, at which
time the City Council recommended approval of said annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREINITH �
RESOLVES THAT:
Section 1. City Staff is hereby instructed to file the Notice of Intention to
Annex with the King County Boundary Review Board.
Section 2. The City of Auburn hereby requests the King County
Boundary Review Board to approve the annexation of a 201-acre area of land
located in the Lea Hill Potential Annexafion Area, generally consisting of the
a'rea generally bounded by 116th Avenue SE on the west, SE 312th Street on
the north, 124th Avenue SE on the east, and the Green River Community
College/SE 20th Street on the south.
, Section 3. Tfie City Council finds that the annexation is eonsistent with
the City of Auburn's goals and policies related to annexations as enumerated in
Chapter 13 ofi the City's Comprehensive Plan.
� Se:ction 4. The City Council further finds that the annexation is
consistent with the Comprehensiye Land. Use Plan of the City for orderly and

controlled growth, and accomplishes the purposes and objectives specified in
RCW36.93.010 based on the facts herein.
Section 5. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such

administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of
this legisla.tion.
