A RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
IMPLEMENT SUCH ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES AS MAY BE
NECESSARY TO AUTHORIZE THE WATER UTILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN
THE SAFE DRINKING WATER ACCESS AND REVIEW SYSTEM \

UNREGULATED GONTAMINANT MONITORING RULE.

WHEREAS, pursuant to the 1996 Amendments to the Safe Drinking
Wa#er Act, owners and operators of public water systems are required to
monitor for unregulated contaminants and report the results to the
Environmental Protection Agency via an Internet-based reporting system; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 35A.11.020 Auburn has the legal authority
to participate in this Program with the Environmental Pr,otection Agency; and
WHEREAS, this authorization is for fhe purpose of allowing the Cify of
Auburn Water Utility to review drinking water analysis results prior to
� submission to the Environmental Protection Agency via their Internet-based
reporting system.
- NOW, THEREFORE, THE GOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, .
WASHINGTON, IN A REGULAR MEETING DULY ASSEMBLED, HEREWITH
RESOLVES THAT:
Section 1. The 1996 Amendments to the� Safe Drinking Water Act
require owners and operators of public water systems to monitor for

unregulated contaminants and report the results to the Environmental
Protection Agency via an Internet-based reporting system.
Section 2. To allow City of Aubum Water Utility representatives to have
Internet access to review the water quality data prior to submission to the
Environmental Protection Agency `the City must formally notify the
Environmental P�otection Agency of their infent to participate. �
Section 3. The Mayor and City Clerk of the City of Auburn are herewith
authorized to execute fhe letter of authorization.
Section 4. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such
administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of
this legislation.
