A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR
THE EFFORTS OF "IT PLAYS IIV PEORIA PRODUCTIONS"
TO OBTAIN A LOW POWER FM RADIO STATION
LICENSE.
WHEREAS, Auburn-based "It Plays in Peoria Productions" has served the
public through community affairs radio programming since 1993; and
WHEREAS, "It Plays in Peoria Productions" has applied to the Federal
Communications Commission for a Low Power FM (LPFM) license; and
WHEREAS, Low Power FM is suited to strengthen communities through
locally relevant radio programming; and
WHEREAS, the sale of KASY AM has left a void in the Auburn area
airwaves; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Auburn LPFM would serve the interests and
needs of community members, businesses, organizations and the arts
community in Auburn.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE. IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Auburn, Washington, be on record as fully supporting the efforts of"It Plays in
Peoria Productions" to bring an LPFM station to Auburn to befiter serve the
interests and needs of all members of the Auburn community.
