DISCUSSION The salary information that was deeided last year was sent to each committee member prior to the meeting. The committee approved a two percent (2%) increase in 2016, making the councilmembers' salaries currently one thousand two hundred finrenty four dollars ($1;224.00) per month, and the Deputy Mayor's compensation one thousand six hundred thirty two dollars ($1,632.00) per mon#h. In addition, fhe councilmembes are allowed up to two hundred dollas ($200.00) per month for attending regional committee meetings for which the councilmember was appointed, or($50.00) per meeting up to four(4). The committee believes that there is reason to increase the councilmembers' _ _ _ salaries again, and would like to do a market analysis of nearby jurisdictions. There was conversation around the compensation for the regional committee meetings, as a Council travel budget had recently been discussed. It was cleared up that a travel budget is completely separate from the Mayor appointed committees that would give them the additional fifty dollars ($50.00) per meeting, per month, up to four (4). It was moved and seconded to adopt a two percent (2%) increase for all councilmembers now, followed by a market review with potential adjustment (additional increase, decrease, o no change). There was a unanimous vote for the councilmembers' salaries to be increased. The councilmembers' salaries will Page 1 be one thousand two hundred forty eight dollars and forty eight cents ($1,248.48) and the Deputy Mayor's compensation will be one thousand six hundred sixty four dollars and si_xty four cents ($1,664.64), until further notice based on the market review done by the committee.
