I. Purpose
The purpose of this agreement is to maintain and increase
coordination between "Senior Rights" and "City of Auburn" in order
to provide seniors age 55 and older with information, education,
and assistance with a variety of legal, consumer, and health
insurance issues.
II. Program Description
Senior Rights Assistance is a peer assistance program which
trains senior volunteers to provide senior consumers with
information on a range of issues with which they are likely to need
help. The senior volunteers offer information with which senior
consumers can make informed decisions based on their own
unique needs, values, and circumstances. When required, a
volunteer can provide advocacy on a client's behalf. Senior Rights
can also connect qualifying Iow-income clients with free and Iow-
cost attorney services when the client is unable to resolve legal
issues without the services of an attorney.
