willing to visit any/all agencies as her schedule allows. Member JoAnne Walters
stated that she'd prefer for ANEW to bring in an Auburn client to present at a future
Human Services Committee meeting. The list of ageneies was narrowed down to
Aubum Respite, Children's Home Society, Children's Therapy Center, Christ
Community Free Clinic, Consejo, Courage360, DAWN, Multi-Service Center, Nexus
Youth and Families, Orion Industries, Pediatric Interim Care Center, Seattle-King
County Mobile Medical, St. Stephen Housing Association, St. Vincent de Paul, The
Auburn Food Bank and Ukrainian Community Genter of Washington.
Members Barbara Derda and Maryelyn Scholz asked to have a copy of the Nexus
(Auburn Youth Resources) application sent to them again. The group discussed
inviting Sylvia Fuerstenberg, Executive Direetor and Michelle Hankinson, Program
Manager to a future meeting as well as visiting the Nexus facilities. During the
discussion Maryelyn mentioned the importanee of clarifying the members'
responsibilities to agencies and reminding them of the Committee's role to act in an
advisory capacity only.
Eriea Azcueta suggested planning a day of Auburn-based visits and Kent-based
visits for maximum efficiency.
• Agency visit template
Emily Pearson distributed sample templates of standards & procedures, pre-visit
checklists and monitoring forms for agency visits. She asked the group to bring back
any suggestions and/or changes they may have to the April meeting. Emily will then
compile the group's recommendations and present updated forms prior to agency
visits.
• Quorum expansion and resolution update
Dana Hinman said she'd put a resolution together to increase the Committee's
quorum number. She sked if the group had a preference for the quorum number; the

applicants brought in for interviews with fhe Committee.
Erica gave a brief overview of the roles of the Joint Recommendations Committee
(JRC) as she'd served on it in 2016. She explained how county-wide grants work as
opposed to federal CDBG funds that are disfributed from the City directly. Barb
asked when the City might receive its 2017 allocation from HUD; Erica Azeueta said
that it's still very unclear at this poinf given the recent speculation of potential cuts to
