A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, APPROVING ADDENDUM NO.
1 TO THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE CITY OF AUBURN AND THE AUBURN
POLICE SERGEANTS' ASSOCIATION FOR 2016 -2018
WHEREAS, the City of Auburn recognizes the Auburn Police Sergeants'
Association as the exclusive bargaining representative of all employees designated as
employees of the Auburn Police Sergeants' Association; and
WHEREAS, in connection therewith, the City of Auburn and the management of
the Auburn Police negotiated a Collective Bargaining Agreement for the years 2016
2018, setting forth the mutual understanding and agreement of the parties relative to
salaries and conditions of employment for those employees for whom the City
recognizes the Auburn Police Sergeants' Association as the collective bargaining
representatives; and
WHEREAS, the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the years 2016 — 2018, was
approved pursuant to Resolution No. 5186 and executed on the 7th day of December,
2015; and
WHEREAS, consistent with the terms of said Collective Bargaining Agreement,
openers for certain provisions were contemplated for the second year of the Collective
Bargaining Agreement, for which acceptable terms were negotiated in Addendum No. 1
to the Collective Bargaining Agreement; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Council to approve Addendum No. 1 to
the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the years 2016 - 2018.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, KING
COUNTY, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute Addendum No. 1 to the
Collective Bargaining Agreement by between the City of Auburn and the Auburn Police
Sergeants' Association for the years 2016 - 2018, which Addendum No. 1 is in
Resolution No. 5328

substantial conformity with the Addendum attached hereto, marked as Exhibit "A" and
incorporated herein by this reference
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement such administrative
procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.
Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon passage and
signatures hereon.

ADDENDUM NO. I
ADDENDUM TO THE CITY OF AUBURN AND AUBURN POLICE SERGEANTS'
ASSOCIATION COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT FOR 2016-2018
THIS ADDENDUM is made and entered into this qday of , 2017,by
and between the AUBURN POLICE SERGEANTS' ASSOCIATION ("Association"), and the
CITY OF AUBURN, a municipal corporation of the State of Washington(hereinafter referred to
as "Auburn"), as an Addendum to the 2016-2018 Collective Bargaining Agreement executed on
the 7th day of December, 2015.
NOW THEREFORE in consideration of their mutual covenants,conditions, and promises,
the PARTIES HERETO HEREBY AGREE to Amend the Collective Bargaining Agreement as
follows:
1. AMENDMENT TO ARTICLE 8 —The parties agree that the City will continue to
offer the current Premera PPO plan in 2018. However,AWC will terminate the Kaiser Permanente
(Plan 2-$10.00 co-pay) effective December 31, 2017. Therefore, any employee electing
enrollment on Kaiser Permanente will be placed in the Plan 3 $20.00 co-pay/$200.00 deductible
plan effective January 1, 2018.
2. AMENDMENT TO APPENDIX "A"—Appendix "A" of the Original Agreement
is amended to read as follows:
The parties agree that effective January 1, 2018, there shall be a two percent (2%) wage
increase. Additionally, there shall be a one percent (1%) wage increase effective July 1,
2018.
3. REMAINING TERMS UNCHANGED: That all other provisions of the Original
Agreement shall remain unchanged, and in full force and effect.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF the parties hereto have executed this Agreement as of the day
and year first above written.
