A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING � THE MAYOR TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR THE 2017 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM GRANT , WHEREAS; the Port of Seattle has authorized an Economic Development Partnership Program to support local economic development activities; and WHEREAS, more than $962,000.00 in matching funds is available to King County cities; and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn has applied for a grant through this program from which it would receive, if approved, $65,000.00, for the following eligible ac#ivities: business recruitment initiatives designed to attract new companies to a region or city; small business development (including incubator/accelerator projects); industry retention and expansion assistance (ex. Maritime, Aerospace, etc.); tourism development; downtown revitalization; commercial or industrial property development; and other community or economic development projects that support new investment and job creation; and cities may collaborate or aggregate regionally to enhance impact; and WHEREAS, the City of Auburn received word that it's grant application was approved, it and it is, now, incumbent upon the City to negotiate a contract for such grant. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN, WASHINGTON HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate and execute an agreement with the Port of Seattle, in conformity with the scope of work and parameters of its application to the Port of Seattle for a grant through the 2017 Econo 53 Resolution No 5327. November 15, 2017 Page 1 of mic Development Partnership Program, a copy of which application is attached hereto, marked as Exhibit ``A" and Incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. Implementation. The Mayor is further authorized to take such other steps and implement such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out the directives of this resolution. Section 3.
