Review of Tuesday,October 10,2017 Minutes:The October 102017 mi.nutes were moved for
appcoval.
Old Business:
, : o Paing Roads—Gemetery had patch work done on a few bad areas. The 7t''Addition had
_ sinking issues and by the Centennial U.rn Garden was all cracked. It was rough for cars so; it
needed to be fixed. The 9t"Addition is good but the rest of the pavement will need work
done in the future. Eagle Asphalt did the work and they also gave a bid orr the whole
cemetery that is about$277,000. Craig .will get more bids from other companies as well.
This project will be divided in two phases. First p.hase will be by the o#fice and the oval. Graig
will be working on the next two years budget for this capital project.
, • Memory Heights Update—Sales has been strong there, Price per plot is$2,295.There are
plans to make upright memorials.up against the rock wall and also a couple of family estates.
• IYeterans Day—Staff trimmed things really well in the veteran section.American flags were
placed on all the vete.rans graves. Flags were a9so available for families tFiat aren't in that
sectibn. Fami.lie.s.have the option to get a veterans marker or to plaee a branch symbol on
their memorial, Medallions canalso be;reset in the marke.r.
New BuSiness:
o Giving Campaign Christmas Wreaths—About 2 years ago cernetery staff started making
wreaths with branches from trees. This is a way to help the Citq with the Giving Campaign to
donate to local charities. First year the funds were given to the food bank and the second
year the money was combined with Park"s department.. So far 11 wreaths have been sold for
$20 each. It has been successful wayto support the city.
,
Rope Lights- Th.e office building had rope lights with seetionsthat had burned out. New
rope lights were recently installed.
e New Mausoleum-The mausoleum is sold out end there is enough interest from farnilies
that the cemetery is considering to build a new one next to the Chapel of Memories. This
new building will have the same lodge look as the chapel. The mausoleum will have crypts
for cas.kets. It will be open in two sides with a roof. Each end will have crypts with granite
shutters,96 crypts,4 high. Planning to have benches, outdoor propane fireplace and some
planters to make it look tasteful. Prite per crypt will depend on the level, where lower level
will be less expensive than the eye-heart leel spaces. Sales of erypts plus opening&closing
and insc.riptions will cover the cost of this.project. Projection in time frame is maybe a
couple of years.
+ Plaque missing-There is a plaque riiissing on the Centennial Park. It had Heath Colvin's
name who.serve on the board and he was instrumental in making the small park across the
coad from fihe cemetery. His family noticed. that the plaque is missing and they would like it
to be replaced. Mike, Daryl and Craig are looking for an alternative io bronze because there
areabout 10 differenf plaques m,issing around the city parks.
