I. Call to Order
The Urban Tree Board met at Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation at 2:00 pm.
Tree board members attending were Board Chair Bryce Landrud, Members Brooksie Hall, James
Tourangeau. Also present at the meeting were Parks Horticulturist Richard Valenti, Parks Maintenance
Worker Trent Mannon and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl.

The March minutes were approved.

IV. Old Business
G St SE: The board approved a White Wonder Dogwood as the street tree selection.
Heritage Tree: Board Chair Landrud would like to choose a Heritage Tree from the south end, between
21st & 37th , there are plenty of old trees in that area.
V. New Business
The Parks Department would like to become a “Bee City USA” city. This entails a resolution via City
Council, and adding some Mason Bee Houses throughout the parks system within a close proximity to
native plants for bees to pollinate. Other cities in the nation have seen an increase in bee population due
to these bee friendly measures.

A Lebanon Cedar tree will be planted at Isaac Evans Park on April 18th at the new time of 9:30 am, for
Arbor Day.
