Old Business Heritage Tree – Chair Landrud made contact with owner of Tulip tree on 620 H St NE, the owner is very interested in Heritage status. V. New Business VI. Board Recommendations/Input Chair Landrud recommends the mason bee houses installed throughout the city be refrigerated over the fall & winter months. Trent suggests we install a mason bee house at Mary Olson Farm next season as they are planting a pollinating garden. Brooksie shows the board a leaf and spiky fruit from a horse chestnut tree and shares they are difficult to clean up after. Perhaps not a good choice for a park. VII. Department Report Trent reports there are a number of Ponderosa Pines at Game Farm Park that are not doing well. Bryce feels it may be from drought type conditions that we’ve experienced the last few years. Bryce has seen birch and cedar trees affected as well. Bryce suggests the board go take a look at the roots for the October meeting. A vehicle ran into and destroyed a Leyland Cypress near Lake Tapps Pkwy. A Quaking Aspen tree has deteriorated at Cedar Lanes park. Trent recommends planting a Cedar tree in it’s place. VIII. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 2:55.
