A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
AUBURN AND THE WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF
COMMERCE TO ACCEPT AND EXPEND GRANT FUNDS
FOR INTERIOR RESTORATION OF THE AUBURN ARTS
AND CULTURE CENTER
WHEREAS, restoration of the historic post office building is necessary to provide
a lobby & gathering area, gallery spaces, classrooms, a visiting artist studio, a
cafe/concession space, bathrooms, and an office area for the Auburn Arts and Cultural
Center; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Commerce has authorized a four-hundred, ninety
thousand dollar ($490,000.00) grant to the City for restoration of the center; and
WHEREAS, to receive the funds, the City must execute a grant agreement with
the Department of Commerce.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, RESOLVES as follows:
Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to execute an agreement between the City
and the Washington Department of Commerce for grant funds in the amount of
$490,000.00, which agreement will be in substantial conformity with the agreement
attached as Exhibit A, and to expend such funds.
Section 2. The Mayor is authorized to implement those administrative
procedures necessary to carry out the directives of this legislation.
Section 3. This Resolution will take effect and be in full force on passage and
signatures.
