Call to Order The Urban Tree Board met at Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation at 2:00 pm. Tree board members attending were Board Chair Bryce Landrud, Members Tanya Galat, Brooksie Hall, James Tourangeau. Also present at the meeting were Parks Maintenance Worker Trent Mannon and Parks Secretary Julie Mehl. II. Minutes The September minutes were approved. III. Correspondence/Public Input IV. Old Business V. New Business VI. Board Recommendations/Input Bryce attended an Arborist conference in Eugene last month. The closing speaker discussed Native peoples previous ways vs. modern day technology, food, waste etc. He has spent 10 years working with the Muckleshoot tribe, Bryce will contact to see if he would be interested in attending/speaking at an upcoming Tree Board meeting. Tanya suggested a Sourwood tree for the next Arbor Day planting. Julie Mehl brought one of the mason bee houses, it was installed too late in the Spring, no bee activity. Will put out early next year, Trent suggests Cedar Lanes and Game Farm parks. VII. Department Report A citizen topped 5 trees at Kersey park, directly behind his property. 3 firs and 2 cedars from 20’ down to 6’. Trees will be replaced. VIII. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 2:45.
