MINUTES
CALL TO ORDER
Chair Jim Kelly called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. in Conference Room 2
located on the second floor of City Hall, 5 West Main Street in Auburn.
Members present included Chair Jim Kelly, Chair Pro Tem Bill Petersen,
Member Stan Laatsch, Member Bob Baggett, and Member Chris Stearns. Also
present was Board Secretary Terry Mendoza and Assistant City Attorney Doug
Ruth.

III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Minutes of the February 4, 2020 LEOFF Board Meeting*
Motion by Chair Pro Tem Petersen, seconded by Member Baggett to
approve the minutes as published.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 5-0

No appeal/request for reconsideration has been received.
B. Medical/Hearing/Vision/Dental Claims

Request for reimbursement of dental expenses in the amount of
$157.50 for services received on June 6, 2019. LEOFF member
did receive dental reimbursement in 2019.

Motion by Member Baggett to approve the claim as submitted.
Second by Chair Pro Tem Petersen.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 5-0
2. LEOFF 1 Member#948705*
Request for reimbursement of dental expenses in the amount of
$1,147.00 for services received on February 6, 2020. The LEOFF
member has not received any dental reimbursement in 2020.
Motion by Chair Pro Tem Petersen to approve the claim as
submitted. Second by Member Laatsch.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 5-0
3. LEOFF 1 Member#490024*
Request for reimbursement of medical expenses in the amount of
$1,059.48 for services received between November 2019 through
January 2020.
Motion by Chair Pro Tem Petersen to table the claim until an
explanation of benefits is submitted. Seconded by Member
Baggett.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 5-0
C. Other Discussion
1. Policy Review
Chair Kelly opened the discussion on additional recommendations
for policy changes to the current LEOFF rules. A few more items to
consider were added to Chair Kelly's list. There were a couple of
grammatical changes noted, in addition to discussion about
possible City-covered vision insurance benefits. Board Secretary
will talk with the City's Benefit Administrators and include an update
on this, as well as the analysis on regional hearing and vision caps
for a future meeting.
VI. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting
adjourned at 10:27 a.m.
