The City received 6 responsive bids and the low bid was approximately 11% below the engineer's estimate. Staff performed reference checks and other verifications to determine that Mill Plain Electric meets the responsible bidding criteria. The total estimated project costs are within the total project budget and is partially funded by a federal grant. The Lake Tapps Parkway ITS Expansion Project includes construction of new Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) infrastructure, including Variable Message Signs (VMS), weather stations, CCTV cameras, and a fiber optic communication system to expand the City's network size, allowing for additional control of the traffic signals in the system. Staff will provide construction status updates on the monthly Capital Project Status Report. Physical completion shall be within 90 working days of the date on the Notice to Proceed.
