PROJECT NO/DESCRIPTION: Academy Pump Station 1 Replacement Hydraulic Modeling Support The general provisions and clauses of the Agreement referenced above shall be in full force and effect for this Task Assignment. Location of Project: City of Auburn Maximum Amount Payable per this Task Assignment: $7,680.90 Completion Date: July 31, 2020 Scope of Work: The City of Auburn (City) is replacing Academy Pump Station No. 1 that serves the Academy Service Area. To support the design of the new pump station, the hydraulic model will be used to provide system curves under multiple operational scenarios. Additionally, the model will be updated with the proposed pump station and evaluate the ability to meet Peak Hour Demand (PHD) and fire flows during the maximum day demand (MDD). The results will be provided to the City and design team via email. Tasks The hydraulic model will be used to support the Academy Pump Station 1 Replacement project: 1. Vista Oaks Development Demand. Estimate the Vista Oaks development demand during ADD, MDD, and PHD based on Pre application 20-0011 information. Separate indoor and outdoor demands will be projected to account for the substantial park like features proposed. This task is to be completed within 1 week of Notice to Proceed (NTP). 2. Meetings. Attend two meetings to support the design project. Project meetings are anticipated to be completed by July 31, 2020 based on the current design schedule. 3. System Curves. Use the hydraulic model to develop system curves to aid in pump selection. Demands will based on the revised demands developed as part of Task Order 16 and include the proposed MIT Casino expansion. This task is to be completed within 1 week of Notice to Proceed (NTP). The City's InfoWater System Curve function will be used to generate the curves for the following scenarios: a. Reservoir 1 Tank full and Reservoir 8A&B empty with average day demand (ADD) MIT demand for the 2021 ADD scenario b. Reservoir 1 Tank low due to a fire event and Reservoir 8A&B full with MDD MIT demand for the 2040 MDD scenario c. Reservoir 1 Tank low due to a fire event and Reservoir 8A&B full with MDD + Fire Flow at MIT for 2040 MDD scenario 4. Pump Station Modeling. Confirm pump station replacement does not create new deficiencies for the 2021 and 2040 model scenarios. Pump Station modeling is anticipated to be completed by July 31, 2020 based on the current design schedule. ENG-186, Revised 8/19 Page 1 of 2 a. Simulate the Academy Service area in the hydraulic model for the PHD conditions. Identify deficiencies for low pressure and high velocities. b. Simulate the Academy Service area during MDD plus fire flow conditions. The proposed MIT Casino expansion will be assumed to be complete for this Task. 5. Protect Letter. Document the work effort in a Draft letter to the City. Address City comments in a Final Letter. Pump Station modeling is anticipated to be completed by July 31, 2020 based on the current design schedule. Deliverables • Project letter. Assumptions • Vista Oaks Development demand project parameters will be based on Task 16 efforts and the Water System Plan • Project Letter will be sent electronically. Location of Project: City of Auburn Maximum Amount Payable per this Task Assignment: $975.00 Completion Date: April 15, 2019 Scope of Work: The purpose of this task is to model the new fire flow requirements from the Divine Court Apartments/Heritage Building. General information on this proposed development is as follows: • 6 story mixed use building and a small amount of retail space. • Additional hydrants may be required per VRFA. • Calculated required fire flow is 3,250 GPM for 3 hours (w/ automatic sprinkler system). The hydraulic model will be used to evaluate if the existing distribution system can provide the needed demands. 1. Simulate system with the proposed development under the 2021 and 2035 MDD + Fire Flows conditions. Identify deficiencies based on City pressure and velocity criteria. Identify improvements to resolve any identified deficiencies. Three fire flow scenarios will be run: a. Scenario 1: Fire Flows will be allocated to the following node: i. Node J-8811 at B St SE and E Main St. b. Scenario 2: Fire flows will be allocated to the following nodes: i. Node J-8812 at B St SE south of E Main St. ii. Node J-388 at E Main St and A St SE. c. Scenario 3: Fire flows will be allocated to the following nodes: i. Node J-8812 at B St SE south of E Main St. ii. Node J-334 at E Main St and Auburn Way S. 2. Summarize results in an email to the City. The letter will include summary map and results table. ENG-186, Revised 11/17 Page 1 of 2 Deliverables • Email with results and recommended improvements. Assumptions The City will provide the following information: • Demand will be approximate as 72 ERUs (66 residential units + 6 commercial units). No irrigation demand will be applied.
