AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4491 WHICH APPROVED THE
APPROPRIATION OF THE SUM OF $263,000 1991-92 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS TO DELETE ITEM NO. 6 AND ADD THE
AMOUNT DESIGNATED UNDER SUCH ITEM TO ITEM NO. 5.
WHEREAS, the City Council approved the appropriation of
the 1991-92 Community Development Block Grant Funds on March
12, 1991 pursuant to Ordinance No. 4491; and
WHEREAS, Item No. 6 in the amount of $650.00 was
designated to St. Vincent DePaul for the renovation of that
portion of the St. Vincent DePaul facility used as a washing
machine repair facility.; and
WHEREAS, Item No. 5 in the amount of $950.00 was
designated to St. Vincent DePaul for the renovation of the
restrooms at the St. Vincent DePaul facility; and
WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) has informally determined that the renovation
of the washing machine repair facility does not meet block
grant conditions established by HUD in that items sold at the
facility may be sold to persons other than low income persons
and persons employed at the facility may or may not be low
income; and
WHEREAS, the City proposes to eliminate the funding for
the renovation of the facility used for washing machine repair
and to increase the project funding to promote barrier free

2 accessibility for the handicapped to restrooms at the facility
3 by adding the $650.00 in Item 6 to the $950.00 already included
4 in Item 5 of the specified expenditures of the Block Grant
5 Funds.
6 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AUBURN,
7 WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
8 Section 1. The City of Auburn does hereby amend its final
9 statement for the expenditure of the 1991-92 Community
10 Development Block Grant Funds by eliminating Item No. 6 in the
11 amount of $650.00 of the Block Grant Funds and transferring
12 same to Item No. 5 of the Funds.
13 Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to implement
14 such administrative procedures as may be necessary to carry out
15 the directions of this legislation.
16 Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in
17 force five days from and after its passage, approval and
18 publication as provided by law.
