MINUTES
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chair Pro Tern Bill Petersen called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. via our Zoom
Videoconferencing call.
Member present on the Zoom call included Chair Pro Tern Bill Petersen, Member
Stan Laatsch, and Member Chris Stearns. Also present was Board Secretary Terry
Mendoza, and City Staff Attorney Doug Ruth. Chair Jim Kelly and Member Bob
Baggett were excused.
II. AGENDA MODIFICATIONS
There were no agenda modifications.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A. Minutes of the September 1, 2020 LEOFF Board Meeting*
Motion by Member Laatsch to approve the minutes as published. Second by
Member Stearns.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0

Request for reimbursement of medical expenses in the amount of
$1,499.98 for the purchase of hearing aids on August 23, 2020. The
member has submitted paperwork to United Health Care (UHC) for
reimbursement of up to $500 — the amount that UHC will reimburse
every three years for the purchase of hearing aids.
Motion by Member Laatsch to approve the claim as submitted.
Second by Member Stearns.

$591.14 for long-term care services received July 1 through July 31,
2020.

C. Other Discussion

Documentation for pre-approval of Long-Term Care services - Home
health care, respite care, and hospice care.
Motion by Member Laatsch to approve potential Long-Term care
services related to home health, respite, and hospice care for this
LEOFF Member during the initial 90-day waiting period before the
insurance will cover any expenses. Second by Member Stearns.
MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY. 3-0
b. Fire LEOFF Representative Election*
Secretary Mendoza provided the draft schedule for the Board Fire
Representative election. The term will run from January 1, 2021 to
December 31, 2022. Results of the election will be provided at the
December Board meeting.

There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at
10:12 a.m.
