Re: Award of Public Works Contract 21-04, CP2012 M St SE Sidewalk Improvement
Project
As delegated by the Mayor to award public works contracts within the authorization limits of
Auburn City Code 3.10.010, I hereby approve and award Contract No. 21-04 to the lowest
responsible bidder, CCT Construction, Inc, on their total low bid of$621,310.00, for Project No.
CP 2012, M St SE Sidewalk Improvement Project
The City received 6 responsive bids and the low bid was approximately 2.3% below the
engineer's estimate. Staff performed verifications to determine that CCT Construction meets
the responsible bidding criteria.
The total estimated project costs are within the total project budget and is partially funded by a
Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) grant.
The M St SE Sidewalk Project will construct sidewalks along M Street SE between Auburn Way
S and 8th Street SE. The project will complete the missing section of sidewalk along the west
side of M Street SE between Auburn Way S and 8th Street SE, and will complete the missing
sidewalk along the east of M Street SE between Auburn Way S and 12th Street SE. The project
will construct approximately 2,000 linear feet of new sidewalk to match adjacent widths. The
project will also construct ADA compliant curb ramps, install street lighting, and relocate
overhead signage to provide ADA access.
Staff will provide construction status updates on the monthly Capital Project Status Report.
