Parks and Recreation Board Meeting
Minutes
Tuesday, March 2, 2021
5:30 p.m.
Virtual Via Zoom
I. Call to Order 5:35 pm
Present were Board Chair Michael Hassen, Members; Katie Helton, Mike Palko-Dean, Lisa Russell.
Department staff present were Parks Director Daryl Faber, Parks Planning Manager Jamie Kelly, Parks
Maintenance Manager Stefanie Coleman and Parks Administrative Assistant Julie Mehl.

Stefanie Coleman, new Parks Maintenance Manager is introduced. She brings 20 years of experience
with a background in golf maintenance, parks maintenance, and parks supervisor.
The following ideas are being discussed for Plaza Park located across from City Hall; re-designed paver
area, outdoor seating area with fireplace, public art piece. Extra funds may be used on B St project or
the alleyway project.
VII. Department Report (Faber/Kelly)
The Fitness Center has opened for limited use and pickleball has re-started. Staff is prepping for summer
camp, baseball / softball, the farmers market, Peter Cotton Trail, and the opening of Bogeys restaurant.
We don’t have a date yet on the Auburn Ave Theater or concerts / movies in the parks as large
gatherings are still not allowed under the governor’s current phase.
Plans for the 104th project are expected this week, will then submit for permits and send out to bid late
spring.
The Game Farm turf project is underway, set to be completed by the end of March. The turf fields bring
in $120,000 in revenue per year.
