I. CALL TO ORDER Deputy Mayor DaCorsi called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. II. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION A. Public Participation The City Council Meeting was held in person and virtually. B. Roll Call Councilmembers virtually present: Deputy Mayor Claude DaCorsi, Larry Brown, James Jeyaraj, Robyn Mulenga, Chris Stearns and Yolanda Trout- Manuel. Councilmember Bob Baggett was excused. Mayor Nancy Backus, Chief of Police Mark Caillier, Director of Innovation and Technology David Travis, Innovation and Technical Support Specialist Danika Olson and Deputy City Clerk Teresa Mattingly were in Chambers. The following department directors and staff members attended the meeting virtually: City Attorney Kendra Comeau, Director of Community Development Jeff Tate, Director of Public Works Ingrid Gaub, Director of Parks, Arts and Recreation Daryl Faber, Human Services Program Coordinator Kyla Wright and Assistant Director of Innovation and Technology Ashley Riggs. III. ANNOUNCEMENTS REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS There were no announcements, reports or presentations. Page 1 of 3 IV. AGENDA ITEMS FOR COUNCIL DISCUSSION A. Ordinance No. 6843 (Tate)(5 Minutes) An Ordinance relating to fee codes, and amending Sections 19.02.070, 19.04.040, 19.06.040, 19.08.030, 15.07.080, 13.06.050, 13.06.275, 13.20.200, and 13.41.040 of the Auburn City Code Director Tate provided Council with a brief overview of the proposed fee code changes related to land development fees and the purpose for the changes. B. Deputy Mayor Selection Discussion (Council) Deputy Mayor DaCorsi provided Council with an overview of the Deputy Mayor Selection Process. City Attorney Comeau advised Council that Section 12 of the City Council Rules of Procedure covers the Deputy Mayor Selection Process. V. COMMUNITY WELLNESS DISCUSSION ITEMS A. Annual Joint Council and Human Services Committee Meeting (60 Minutes) Roundtable discussion between the City Council and the Human Services Committee Councilmember Mulenga presided over this section of the meeting. Director Tate introduced Coordinator Wright who provided Council with an update on the Human Services Committee. She discussed the purpose of the committee, key findings of the Community Needs Assessment, the impacts of Covid on Human Services, the Equity and Inclusion Pilot Program, program reporting and demographics, agency success stories, 2023-2024 Priority Areas and the application process. Human Services Committee members Kelly Lindgerg, Janeane La Casse, Sue Miller and Shawn Parkhurst Paton discussed St. Stephen Housing, Child Care Resources, Child Care Financial Assistance, Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee, 2023-2024 Priority Areas and the application process. Council thanked the Human Services Committee for their work and discussed the number of applications received, the number of programs funded and workforce training. VI. OTHER DISCUSSION ITEMS Council discussed their interest in the Special Focus Areas for 2022. VII. NEW BUSINESS There was no new business. Page 2 of 3 VIII.
